Hibernate Recordings present a night of shimmering guitars and dark churning currents of noise at the Birchcliffe Centre, featuring Aidan Baker, Simon Scott & Hidden Bek.
Aidan Baker – Aidan is a Canadian musician & writer alternately based in toronto & berlin. he performs as a solo artist & w/ the groups nadja + arc. A classically trained multi-instrumentalist, his primary instrument is the electric guitar w/ which he creates music ranging from experimental/drone to ambient post-rock to contemporary classical. He has released numerous albums on labels from around the world & has authored several books of prose/poetry.
Simon Scott – Simon is the former Slowdive drummer who puts out international experimental music with integrity on his label KESH Recordings. Through Simon’s dimly-lit soundscapes, we encounter shimmering melodies that gather and disperse through apocalyptic rhythms, surrounded by layers of harmony that hover over found-sounds. Simon has also collaborated under the moniker Seavault (Morr Music) with A.Ryan from Isan, and also goes under the name Televise.
Hidden Bek – Former members of Hebden Bridge hereos Widykeff and Cool Piano Roll merge to create a slowcore inspired sonic paradise, where reverbed melodies effortlessly melt away into the ether.
