New Swimming Pool Plans On Display
Communities in Brighouse and Sowerby Bridge will have the opportunity to view and discuss the proposed designs for new leisure facilities in both towns at public events taking place next week.
Potato Day Celebrations In Hebden Bridge
Calderdale will be joining in the celebration of the humble spud on Potato Day with the help of Calder Valley Organic Gardeners (CVOG), at the Good Shepherd in Mytholmroyd on 28th February. The cost of admission to the event is only £1, which also includes a ticket for the Potato Raffle.
Stand Up To Hatred On Holocaust Memorial Day
A prestigious panel of speakers will visit Halifax this month to mark Holocaust Memorial Day. They include Doreen Lawrence, mother of Stephen Lawrence – murdered for being a black man in London in 1993 – and Colin Parry, whose 12-year-old son Tim was killed in the IRA Warrington bombing in 1993. Calderdale will mark the day with a special event at the Victoria Theatre, Halifax, on January 27th from 5pm to 8.30pm.
