New 'Heart' For Mytholmroyd
Artists are being invited to work with the community towards plans for a new heart for Mytholmroyd. Calderdale Council is working with Royd Regeneration and St Michael’s Church to create a new Town Square for Mytholmroyd, and a piece of public art will form a focal point in the centre of the site, and will be a key part of the transformation.
Teenagers Make Their Mark On New Library
Teenagers will be putting their own stamp on the new Hebden Bridge library at a graffiti workshop this Saturday. They will produce a large graffiti board which will go on display in the new teenage area when the library opens next month.

Saturday surgery is a unique, free event run by local architects Studio BAAD where you can come along discuss any ideas you may have for your home with our talented team of architects and designers. The event will be held on 21.03.2009 with more to follow in the near future.
Hebden Bridge’s Big Green Weekend Is Back!
Now that the snowy weather has passed, its time to put this year’s greenest local event into your diaries if you haven’t already – yes its the Big Green Weekend 2009! This year’s Big Green Weekend, celebrating all things green is being held over the Spring Bank Holiday, May 23rd, 24th and 25th will not only be in Hebden Bridge centre, but will also have some events in Mytholmroyd and other parts of the valley.
Hebden Bridge Council Tax Rise Is Lowest Ever
Hebden Bridge residents will be paying some of the lowest council tax increases in the region. At last night’s Budget Meeting, Calderdale councillors voted to peg council tax rises to 1.78%. It means that, from April nearly half of all households in the borough will find themselves paying less than £15 a year extra for council services.

Calderdale Council Is Looking For The Write Stuff
Budding authors are being invited to put pen to paper for Calderdale MBC’s third Short Story Contest. As well as a first prize of £300, and runners-up prizes of £100 and £50, the winners will get to hear their stories read out at a library event.
Kerbside Issue To Be Raised At Calderdale MBC Meeting
On Wednesday 18th February at 6pm, the issue of Kerbside will again be raised at a full Calderdale MBC meeting. Councillors from non-Conservative parties are still discussing the content of what will be proposed. This will include a call for an independent enquiry into the tendering process. The meeting is open to the public, therefore if any Hebden Bridge residents wish to show their support for Kerbside, they are welcome to attend.
