Big Green Weekend Boasts Big Green Market!
This year’s Hebden Bridge Big Green Weekend, over the 23rd, 24th and 25th of May, will see an outdoor market selling a wide range of low carbon, locally sourced and ethical goodies, using the car park at the end of Bridge Gate, by the river. The traders are being carefully chosen to deliver a well-blended and low carbon mix, and give the best possible experience to the Big Green Weekend visitor.

Sports Centre To Close For Essential Maintenance And Improvements
Calderdale Council is to carry out essential maintenance and improvement works at Todmorden Sports Centre. The work will commence on Monday, April 13th and is expected to take until Tuesday, May 5th. The pool will remain closed throughout the duration of the work and reopen on Tuesday 5th May, while other areas: the sports hall, crèche, lifestyles and dance studio will reopen on Monday, April 27th.
Hebden Bridge List Website Feature Updates
It’s been a little over six months since The Hebden Bridge List first appeared on the web, and in that short time we have made astonishing progress in terms of attracting an audience and achieving our aims for the first year. Last month saw over 8,000 unique visitors to the website, and well over 30,000 page views, and we are on target to supersede those figures already for this month. But we’re certainly not going to be resting on our laurels.
Kerbside Calderdale To Suspend Collections
On 10th April 2009 Kerbside Calderdale will suspend its collection service to 25,000 households in the borough – unless a source of income materialises in the very near future. The battling recyclers have defied economic gravity since 4th August 2008 when they manifested a determination to carry on collecting despite the withdrawal of funding for the service.
Labour Concerned With The Future Of Halifax Central Library
Calderdale Councilor Barry Collins of the Labour Group on Calderdale Council is calling for a major review of the controversial decision to move the Halifax Central Library to the new Broad Street Development.
