Criticism Over Council's Decision To Privatise
Calderdale Council have today announced their decision to out-source parking enforcement to Watford based firm VINCI Park Services UK Ltd. The Council says that after consultation and research, it decided that parking enforcement could be improved by employing a national organisation who specialise in providing this type of service.
Calderdale Council Easter Opening Hours
Many Calderdale Council services will remain open over the Easter holiday period for residents and visitors. Sports centres, museums and tourist information centres will be open over the Bank Holiday, including Bankfield and Heptonstall museums. Shibden Hall will be open from 10am to 5pm and the park will be open from 8am to 7pm every day.

To celebrate the launch of the Royal Horticultural Society’s (RHS) ‘Britain in Bloom’ season, Manor Heath Nursery is taking part in a national mass greening project. As part of this year’s biodiversity theme, green fingered staff and local volunteers will be taking part in a ‘potathon’ – transplanting 1,000 geranium seedlings into pots at Manor Heath Nursery, Manor Heath Park, Halifax.
Calder Valley Candidate Withdraws From Election Race
The former mayor of Calderdale Chris O’Conner, has decided not to run for election in the Calder Valley constituency, choosing to focus his attention on regaining a seat on Calderdale Council in the forthcoming council elections.
