Calderdale Council Is Looking For The Write Stuff
Budding authors are being invited to put pen to paper for Calderdale MBC’s third Short Story Contest. As well as a first prize of £300, and runners-up prizes of £100 and £50, the winners will get to hear their stories read out at a library event.
Short stories of up to 3,000 words on any topic are welcome. The contest will be judged by Jane Rogers, author of seven novels, as well as radio and TV drama, and currently Professor of Writing on the MA course at Sheffield Hallam University. The second judge is Ra Page, founder and editorial director of Comma Press, the UK’s most prolific independent publisher of short fiction.
For an entry form and to see the competition rules, visit www.calderdale.gov.uk/libraries or email Anna Turner for more information: anna.turner@calderdale.gov.uk
The closing date for entries is Friday 27th March and each entry costs £3.
