Candle 4 Tibet Vigil
Hebden Bridge Tibet support group, LOVE 4 TIBET, will be holding a peaceful, candle-lit vigil on the eve of the Beijing Olympics. Please join us in Hebden Bridge Square between 8.30-9.00pm. 1000’s of similar candle vigils are taking place around the world, to keep alive the flame of hope for Human Rights for Tibet.
Love 4 Tibet primarily raises funds for humanitarian projects to help ordinary Tibetans. We sponsor two exiled children at the Tibetan Children’s Village in India, as well as raising funds for essential basics at the school.
As the Olympics approach, we are hoping to remind people of the Tibet situation again. www.myspace.com/love4tibet On Friday 8th (opening day of the Beijing Olympics), members of Love 4 Tibet will be walking up to top of Stoodley Pike, and releasing some red flares. (we’ve informed Police so that an Air Sea Rescue helicoptor isn’t called into action!) On Saturday 16th August, it’s the ‘Concert for Tibet‘ at the Trades Club. Headlining is Francis Lickerish (founding member of The Enid, and a great guitarist to boot), and his band, with support from Nic Chapman and Creedy.
We’ve sold quite a lot advance tickets already, so early arrival before 9pm probably essential if you want to guarantee getting in. Richard, Jodie & Janey – LOVE 4 TIBET
