Element Celebrates 500 Years Of Hebden Bridge
It’s the 500 year anniversary of Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire, and Element wanted to join in the festivities by celebrating the creativity of local residents.
Element Jewellery are bringing the imagination of the artists out of the wood work by inviting people to enter into a jewellery design competition. Entrants are asked to design a charm which can then be created by one of Element’s own jewellers. It will become part of their new and exclusive charm range available for sale in their flagship store in Hebden Bridge West Yorkshire, and online in August of this year.
The winner and two runners up will be selected by a judging panel, consisting of the
Element team and renowned local jeweller Catherine Woodall. Entrants are encouraged to think outside the box and design their charm based on whatever inspires them.
Nick Shields, co-owner and in-house designer at Element says:
“The competition gives people living in the local area a chance to show off their talents. Designing a charm involves skill, not only does it need to look good but they also need to consider the scale of their design and just how practical it will be to create and to wear potentially every day.”
Acting as a driving force behind designing and creating bespoke jewellery has become
second nature to Element. Requests for commissions have become increasingly popular since the recession and are a good alternative for those who aren’t quite ready to let go of their acquired treasures.
All entrants of the competition are invited to a prize giving event on Saturday the 14th of August at midday, where the winner and two runners up will be announced. They will be awarded with their charm designs made in silver by Element. Summer refreshments will also be served.
