Have Your Say At The Calderdale Area Forums 2009
The first Area Forums of 2009 will be held across Calderdale this week, offering people another chance to have a say on local issues. Topics up for discussion include energy efficiency, how the Council spends your money, a University for Halifax and how the Council deals with people’s rubbish. There is also an open forum for people to ask questions on any topic.
Anyone with an interest in the local area is welcome to attend including residents, representatives of faith groups, the voluntary and community sector, the police and health service to local businesses.
On Thursday 29th January, meetings take place at the following locations – all starting at 7pm with refreshments available from 6.30pm.
Halifax Central Area Forum: Foundry Street Community Centre, Sowerby Bridge. Topics include a university for Halifax, drugs and how we deal with your rubbish. For more information, contact Viviana Archer-Todde on 01422 393307 or email viviana.archer-todde@calderdale.gov.uk
Upper Valley Area Forum: Luddenden Dene Junior School, Dene View, Luddendenfoot. Topics include young people, supporting local people to own and manage public buildings, sustainability and how the Council spends your money. Lower Valley Area Forum: Cartwheel Youth and Community Centre, Temperance Building, Huddersfield Road, Elland HX5 9DW. Topics include Customer First for Elland and supporting local people to own and manage their public buildings. Councillor Ian Cooper, CMBC Community Services portfolio holder, said:-
