Hebden Bridge Food & Drink Festival 2009
Anyone interested in locally sourced food and drink must put the first Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd Food festival into their diary. This exciting new addition to the Hebden Bridge calendar begins on Saturday 2nd May 2009 and will continue until Sunday 31st May.
The festival will will incorporate a wide range of events focused around local food and drink in Hebden Bridge, including a farmers market, a beer festival, foraging walks, “meet the local producers” and a sausage trail.
Polly Webber, manager of the Alternative Technology Centre, one of the leading organisers of the festival said: “We want it to be a festival that celebrates local food and local producers.
“There will be events reflecting all aspects of the food chain. We are going to have animals in the square, a compost doctor and a discussion panel on food issues as well as many other food-related events.”
The organisers of this event are appealing for locals to get involved either by showcasing their food and drink or assisting in preparations for the event as a volunteer.
Polly Webber added that: “If you want to take part in the festival, either by showing your produce or helping as a volunteer, please getting touch with the Alternative Technology Centre.”
