Hebden Bridge Rock School Re-opens
Hebden Bridge Rock School has re-opened and is recruiting new members. The school needs beginners and experienced musicians and vocalists. The school, run by Calderdale Council’s Music Service and Young People’s Service, offers expert tuition to 13 to 19 year olds who want to play modern music.
Young people who join will have the opportunity to play a range of instruments either as beginners or as experienced players. The experience focuses on enjoyment and learning through creating music. At each session music teachers and experienced musicians are there to help beginners learn from scratch and to give more experienced musicians the opportunity to develop and to play with others.
Each session will have an exciting theme from speakers in the profession, to workshops on specific kinds of music, to visits to other similar projects.
The Rock School is based at Salem Mill, Salem Street, Hebden Bridge ( next to the Co-op ). It will run on Saturday nights from 6 to 9 pm. Dates for the new year are – November 29th, December 12th, January 16th and 30th, February 27th and March 13th.
Further information is available from Kevin Rivett, Calderdale Music School on – 01422 394161 or Lorraine Daber, Calderdale Young People’ s Service on 01706 548186.
Enrolment can be done either by enquiring at a Rock School session or by contacting Kevin or Lorraine.
