No Suspicious Circumstances In Local Woman's Death
Police investigations into the recent discovery of a woman’s body in the River Calder at Hebden Bridge, have concluded that her death was not suspicious. Mother of three young children, 41 year-old Sarah Kryeziu was found face down in the river on Monday 27th October at approximately 9am.
The woman’s body was discovered by Deborah Rolland, a local resident, on her way to the laundrette on Bridge Gate. Ms. Rolland raised the alarm and the owner of Silly Billy’s toy shop, Bill Deakin, who was nearby, and waded into the river at Bridge Gate to attempt a rescue. Speaking in the Hebden Bridge Times, Mr. Deakin said: “The water was above my waist and very cold. I tried to save her but unfortunately as I got her to the side it was evident she was not alive. It is very sad.”
